Ways to wear bordeaux

Yes I know,

Santa doesn’t really wear bordeaux. His outfit is more bright red than dark, but still, bordeaux gets very Christmassy very fast. Yet it is a gorgeous color that is perfect for winter. So I decided to put up some rules. Or lets call them guidelines, since fashion really doesn’t have any rules if you ask me. So here we go:

Bordeaux accessories

This is my favorite guideline that fits every trend that might be a little too much for you, or me. Just use it as an accessory. Wear a bordeaux colored hat, shoes or – my favorite – purse or clutch. So cute! And if you’re in a Blair Waldorf kinda phase you can always go for the bordeaux headband, super classy.

Bordeaux denim

If accessories aren’t enough and you really want to add some bordeaux to your outfit, but you’re not sure how to: go for denim. Bordeaux colored denim is classy and very winter themed. You’ll fit the falling leaves perfectly.¬†Also a good idea: bordeaux knitwear. Cozy!

Bordeaux material

I know I just said there weren’t any rules, but wearing bordeaux velvet really is a no go. It will make you look like Santa Claus. Or a pimp. And neither is a look you really want to own.

Bordeaux inspiration

So there you have it: 3 ways to wear bordeaux without looking like a holiday overenthousiast. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, if that’s the look you’re looking for. Anyhow, here’s some fashionable bordeaux inspiration:
